The World Ends With You

The World Ends With You

Operating System: Nintendo DS
Website: Official Website
Rating: 4/5
Comments: Once again, I was curious to see if this game was as good as everyone says. Luckily... It is! Mind you, it is on a completely different level to the PW game, this one is an action game so, instantly it's right up my alleyway.

The story is great! There's an extremely angsty kid called Neku who wakes up at the Shibuya scramble crossing. He starts off being very closed off, hates people, wants to keep his distance but, due to a series of strange happenings he has to pair up with a bubbly girl named Shiki. Lots of shit happens in between that I won't go into detail about but yes, he's very emo. The good kind of emo though, not the Sasuke kind! I love him to bits.

The gameplay is a bit tricky if you're not used to it. You have to use the "stylus" for the DS, meaning your mouse. It was bloody hard for me to get used to considering the whole touch pad situation. Lucky for me I have lots of experience so I picked it up fairly quick. The person on the top screen was the thing I could never quite get a hang of. You control the main character on the bottom with the stylus but... the top person with arrow keys... really hard to do. ><

The situation with pins kinda frustrated me. You use pins, which in turn have a different "psych", that you use to fight. There are some MEGA bosses in this game. Sometimes I wished that someone had written a pin walkthrough for this game. It's really hard to pick which pins to wear for what boss. I just tended to use the ones that were the easiest for me to use (once again, touch pad fingers only go so far).
